Accessing Off-Campus

To access these periodical databases from home, you will need the LSA database passwords.  If your forgot the passwords, they are available on the EDLINE Library Resources page.

Copying Citations into EasyBib

  1. Click on the Cite/Citations button at the top, right or left of the article page.  
  2. Find the MLA citation and copy it.   If the URL is given, do not copy the URL.
  3. On EasyBib, click on All 59 Options tab (last one on right)
  4. Look to left and find Write/Paste Citation under Other.
  5. Paste citation in box
  6. Click "Create Citation"

Magazines vs. Journals

Magazines - articles in magazines are usually brief and written by journalists and/or freelance writers who write about a wide variety of topics.

Journals - articles in journals are usually lengthy and are written by scholars and experts in the field.  Journal articles usually contain bibliographies, which can provide great leads to other infomative articles on your topic.

Periodical Database Search Tips

To narrow your search, utilize the advanced search options.  This will allow you to use two or more of your keywords and narrow your search by date, publication and subject.
