The research is branched into multiple relevant topics that contribute to the overarching themes of poverty and social justice, as well as awareness. EMBRACING THE ERA

CURRENT VACCINE DISTRIBUTION

For regularly updated information about vaccine distribution, check out NPR's tracker below.

NPR Vaccine Tracker

  • As of February 26, 2022, 76.3% of people in the United States have received at least the first dose. 64.8% have been fully vaccinated.
  • As of February 26, 2022, Rhode Island leads the national vaccination rollout as 95% of people in the state have received at least one dose and 80.5% of people have been fully vaccinated. States such as Vermont, Maine, and Connecticut are not far behind these rates.

MASK MANDATES: ARE THEY BACK?

  • For the 2021-22 school year at La Salle, all students are currently required to wear masks inside of all school buildings. Though the technicalities have changed, social distancing and contact tracing are both still in place. On March 14, this will be lifted and masks will be optional.
  • In February of 2022, many cities and states have decided to end the mask mandate in stores and other public settings. Following peaks during the New Year's holidays, case numbers have begun to decline. However, some are skeptical as to how long this trend will last.

OMICRON UNCERTAINTY

Due to a surge in cases, many government leaders have become uncertain about society's operations. Some have pushed for schools to close again, as the U.S. reported almost 1.1 million new cases earlier this month. This surge may be the result of holiday get-togethers.
