National History Day 2025: RI History

From the RI Secretary of State, the state digital archives preserves and makes Rhode Island’s historic records accessible to the public. Holdings date back to 1638.

The digtial collection of the Providence Public Library includes more than 14,000 photographs, postcards, manuscripts, and oral histories on state and local history, the American Civil War and slavery, the whaling industry, Rhode Island's LGBTQ community, and more.
