Copying Citations from Gale Databases

Affter opening the article, click on Cite button in upper right hand corner.

Gale defaults to the MLA 9 Citation, so just copy the citation in the box.

Copying Citations from STEM & NYT Databases

After opening your article, click on the cite button in upper right hand corner.

Click on the drop down menu and find MLA 9th Edition

Copy Citation, but do not copy the words Works Cited - this is not part of the citation.

Newspapers, Magazines & Journals

Avoid Editorials, Reviews and Letters.

Copying Citations from EBSCO Databases

Click on Cite and Scroll Down to find the MLA formatted citation.  

Search Tips

  • Use Advanced Search to control for date (2017-2022)
  • Word Count – Gale  databases:  located in beneath article title next to information circle.
  • Word Count – New York Times & STEM: located at very bottom of Article (Full-text Tab)
  • Two FULL pages of regular text equals approximately 1,000 words.
  • Choose PDF, if available, in EBSCO and NYT databases.  PDF will include photos, diagrams, etc.
