2017 Report: The country of Afghanistan is a country located in Central Asia that has had one of the worst poverty rates that started with the 1979 invasion by the USSR.

The percent of the population below the poverty line in Armenia is 25.7% according to the most recent news from 2017. There unemployment rate is 17.7% as of 2018, and employed population below $1.90 a day.

Azerbaijan suffers from poverty, but recently there fight to stop it has been successful. There poverty rate sits at a rate of 5.6%. In 2004 there population of 9.5 million had 4 million in poverty, but ten years later in 2014 500,000 people.

Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated nations on Earth with over 1,160 people per square mile. Along with the majority of the nation at risk of flooding and sea level rise. They have made the poverty rate fall drastically from 48.9% in 2000 too 24.3% in 2016.

Bhutan is considered one of the most isolated nations on Earth as it is landlocked in the Himalayan mountains with few foreign embassies besides its closest neighbors. On average, 49% of families live in rural areas and have atlas six members in there family. This causes many families to struggle to provide food if they cannot farm enough.

Brunei does not suffer from that much poverty thanks to the countless government services like free health care and no taxes on its citizens. There are about 20,790 which is about 5,04% of the population.

Many Cambodians can still remember the horrible regime of Pol Pot and his massacres. The poverty he brought onto the country can still be seen today. They have, however, been able to lower it from 53.2% in 2004 to 20.5% in 2011.

The poverty in China is improving year after, but this may be more attributed to the government dropping what defines poverty from $5.50 a day to $1.90 a day. At the $5.50 mark the poverty rate in China would hit a staggering 40% with 500 million people in poverty.

The poverty rate of Georgia is 21.9%. The employed population of Georgia working for less than $1.90 a day is 5%. For every one thousand births in Georgia; 11 die before the age of five.

India for the longest time was the poorest and most poverty stricken country on Earth with the largest population of poor people. Thanks to many improvements made by India they have given this title to Nigeria. India has improved every aspect of life, and even includes the percentage of toilets per house hold has gone from 33% to universal in ten years.

Indonesia has improved conditions significantly including GDP per capita which has risen from $807 in 2000 to $3,877 in 2018. This is a gain of 380%. Indonesia currently has 25.9 million people in poverty which is 10% of the population.

Iran suffers from poverty across the country. Prominent experts would put this at 33% of the population live in absolute poverty. This amounts to 26 million people, and 6% or almost 5 million people starving.

Japan had an economic boom in the late 19th century, but the country's customs have hurt itself recently as a declining birth rate and far too many one qualified workers have caused poverty amongst those children that are born. Without a change the country's population will age and decline along with their economic prosperity.

In Kazakhstan approximately 4.3% of the population in 2018 lived below the poverty line. No one lives on less than 1.90 a day, and one of every 100 babies die before they reach their fifth birthday.

In Kyrgyzstan they can still feel the ramifications of the Soviet Union. The poverty rate in Kyrgyzstan is 25.6% of the population. Their are 1.5% of the population lives on less than $1.90 a day. For every 100 children born; to die before their fifth birthday.

Nearly 33% of the population in Laos is below the poverty line, and is living on less than $1.25 a day. This is due to the agriculture industry making up 67% of the jobs in Laos, and these low skill jobs have kept Laos in poverty.

Malaysia has a serious issue with poverty as 60% of the population lives on less than $1,600 dollars a day. In rural areas the percentage increases to 85% of the population. They struggle to by healthy foods as they cost more than the total meal.

The percentage of the population living unemployed in the Maldives is 6.1% of the population. Maldives has a poverty rate of 8.2% of the population in 2016. For every 1,000 children born; 8 die before their fifth birthday.

The economic growth of Mongolia has slowed significantly from 11.6% in 2013, 7.9% in 2014, 2.4% in 2015, and 1.2% in 2016. The poverty rate in Mongolia is about 29.6% of the population in 2016, and is an 8% increase from 21.6% in 2014.

In Nepal 25.2% of the population is below the poverty line. As of 2010 15% of the population lives on less than $1.90 a day. As of 2017 for every 1,000 children born; 34 die before their fifth birthday.

North Korea is a hermit kingdom that would keep all information that would tarnish the name of the Kim family. The North Koreans have a poverty rate of 40% of the population at about 24 million. This could be much higher as the regime would not let anybody publicity get released.

Pakistan is attempting to fix the issues plaguing their country like poverty, but after a new poverty index was created it revealed that four in ten live in multidimensional poverty. In the provinces FATA and Balochistan the poverty rate is the highest.

In the Philippines the poverty rate is the worst in Southeast Asia. Roughly 30% of the population is in poverty in the Philippines. The President Rodrigo Duterte is making some sort of effort to deal with the poverty.

Russia's Far East has experienced poverty as many communities are isolated, and abandoned since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. They are fender themselves in small communities thousands of miles from Moscow, and there is no way of knowing the full extent of the poverty their.

Singapore's one of the richest countries in the world, and the city is one of the strictest in terms of rules. Somewhere between 23% through 26% are in poverty as they sit below 3,000 dollars a year. The number of households in poverty it between 110,000-140,000.

South Korean men and women live longer than any other nation on Earth. They have a similar problem to Japan as they have an over qualified work population. The future of South Korean children are decided on how well they do in school. This puts a lot of stress and pressure on these children as if they do not do well they are much more likely to encounter poverty.

In Sri Lanka, the Southern and Western provinces fell from 22.7% in 2002 to 6.1% in 2012. For cell phone use, the bottom 40% has a significant shift from 13% ownership to 76% ownership.

The poverty in Tajikistan sits at 29.5% as of 2017. Roughly 4.8% of the population survives on less than $1.90 a day. As of 2017, for every 1000 children born 34 die before the age of five.

The poverty in Thailand has declined so much from 1986 the rate was 67% to 2017 where it stands at 7.8%. In 2014 the 80% of the 7.1 million people who were still poor lived in rural areas.

In Timor-Leste the poverty rate is 41.8% as of 2014. Thanks to innovation in electricity the island has had a huge increase to 63.4% of the population having access to electricity. For every 1000 children born; 48 die before the age of five.

The poverty in rural Turkey is just as bad as Istanbul and the European part of Turkey. The urban centers population has increased significantly, but poverty still exists in both the urban and rural areas.

The poverty in Turkmenistan has dropped significantly from 45% in 1925 to 58% of the turn of the century in 1999. The poverty rate in Turkmenistan currently sits at about 0.2% according to its government. Turkmenistan has depreciated the currency by 20% in 2015, and their economy is very weak due to the Russian Ruble suffering.

The poverty in Uzbekistan is 11.4% as of 2018. For every 1000 children born in 2017; 23 die before the age of five. They have the highest population of Central Asia, and suffer from extreme poverty.

The poverty rate in Vietnam in 2014 was 13.8, and fell by 4% to 9.8% by 2016. Vietnam still has poor citizens who live above the poverty line. It is up to 72% of the population, mostly highland farmers, that live in rural areas where poverty is most common.

The poverty rate in Myanmar is 26%, and nearly 70% of the population lives in rural areas. This means nearly 13 million people live in poverty, and in rural areas the poverty rate doubles to nearly 52%
